Terms & Conditions - the basics

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Move-Out Makeovers website ("Website") and the services provided by Move-Out Makeovers ("we," "us," or "our"), a sole trader business operating in Queensland, Australia. We specialize in providing end-of-lease cleaning, wall touch-up painting, and minor cosmetic repair services (including aluminium joinery touch-ups) exclusively to real estate companies for bond refund preparations. By accessing the Website, booking services, or engaging with us, you (the "Client" or "you," referring to real estate companies or their authorized representatives) agree to these Terms.

 

If you do not agree, please do not use our Website or services. We may update these Terms from time to time; changes will be posted on the Website with the effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

 

1. Services Provided

We offer bundled packages for properties, including:

- Bond cleaning (deep oven clean, bathroom deep clean, blind steaming, skirting wipes, patio/garage floor pressure wash).

- Wall touch-up painting (patching, sanding, and repainting minor areas).

- Aluminium joinery touch-ups (repairs to frames, doors, etc.).

 

All services are QBCC-compliant for minor cosmetic works (under the $3,300 threshold per job, as per the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (Qld)). Services are performed by the sole trader owner, ensuring personalized quality. We provide a 100% bond-back guarantee: If a real estate inspection identifies issues within our scope, we will reclean or retouch free of charge within 7 days, subject to reasonable access and no additional damage.

 

Services are available only to real estate companies in South Brisbane, Logan, and surrounding Queensland areas. We do not service individual tenants.

 

2. Booking and Scheduling

Bookings can be made via the Website's online booking system or contact form. All bookings require upfront payment to confirm, unless otherwise agreed in writing (e.g., for preferred agency partners via invoice).

 

- Availability: Services are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, typically 1-2 jobs per week. We aim for 1-2 day turnarounds.

- Confirmation: Upon payment, you will receive a confirmation email with details. We reserve the right to decline bookings if they exceed our capacity or scope.

- Site Assessment: For complex jobs, we may require an on-site assessment before final confirmation. Additional fees may apply if conditions differ significantly from the booking description.

 

3. Pricing and Payment

Prices are as listed on the Website (e.g., $850 for 2-bedroom packages, $1,100 for 3-bedroom, $1,400 for 4-5 bedroom), inclusive of materials and labour. We are not currently GST registered; prices do not include GST. If our turnover exceeds $75,000 AUD annually, we will register and notify clients of any changes.

 

Payment Methods: Upfront via secure gateways (e.g., Stripe) on the Website. For agencies preferring invoices, we offer net-30 terms upon approval, with payment via bank transfer or card.

Add-Ons and Variations: Extras (e.g., beyond square meter area for repair and paint $100+) will be quoted and paid separately.

Referral Fees: We may offer $100 per successful referral to partnering agencies, added to job costs. Referrals must result in a completed booking; payment is made within 30 days of job completion.

No Refunds for Completed Work: See Section 4 for cancellations.

 

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Client Cancellations: Notify us via the online contact form at least 48 hours before the scheduled service for a full refund (minus any payment processing fees). Within 48 hours, a 50% cancellation fee applies. No refunds for no-shows or cancellations after service commencement.

Our Cancellations: We may cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness or weather); you will receive a full refund and priority rescheduling.

Refunds Process: Processed via the original payment method within 7-10 business days. In line with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), refunds are available for services not provided as described or with major faults.

 

 5. Liability and Warranties

Limitations: To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the cost of re-performing the service or refunding the fee paid. We are not liable for indirect losses (e.g., lost bonds due to tenant damage outside our scope), consequential damages, or pre-existing property issues.

Exclusions: We do not warrant against normal wear and tear, hidden defects, or damage caused by others. Clients must ensure safe access to the property; we are not responsible for accidents due to unsafe conditions.

Insurance: We hold public liability insurance as required for Queensland sole traders. Clients should maintain their own property insurance.

Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays due to events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, strikes).

 

Under the ACL and Queensland's Fair Trading Act 1989 (Qld), our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that they are provided with due care and skill.

 

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website (e.g., logos, descriptions) is owned by Move-Out Makeovers. You may not reproduce or use it without permission.

 

7. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, they may be referred to mediation via the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) or other appropriate body. These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

 

8. Termination

We may terminate services or access to the Website if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, any outstanding payments are due immediately.

 

9. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the full agreement between us.

Severability: If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains enforceable.

Assignment: We may assign these Terms without notice; you may not without our consent.
